| Comments: | NorCal rules regarding Recruiting apply to NorCal clubs without regard to the program involved. So, claiming that a NorCal club that participates in the MLS Next, GA, ECNL or any other platform does not insulate the NorCal club from the NorCal recruiting rules. It is also immaterial whether the coach of the team or the parent of the player initiated the communication about having the player attend the tryout. The material inquiry is whether the player who attended the tryout/ training is registered with another club, and if the player is, if the player who attended the tryout/ training had written permission from their DOC to attend the tryout/ training. In this case, the player did not have written permission from the DOC at the club to which they were registered at the time of the tryout/ training. As a result, Coach Chris Valdivia of the Modesto Ajax 2011G NPL team is suspended 4 games. |
