Incident Summary:
Referee allowed Palo Alto player Kieran Callaghan play despite her name not appearing on the game card and only having an electronic pass that was seen on an app other than gotsoccer. The PAD Committee inquired os USClub Soccer and discovered that the player did not have a valid player pass.
Comments:
On April 28, 2024 Palo Alto had not yet purchased a pass from USClub for this player. The pass was purchased on April 29, 2024 and the player became eligible to play May 1, 2024.
Playing a player without a valid USClub Soccer pass is using an illegal player. The game is declared a 3-0 forfeit in favor of Santos FC. Palo Alto Soccer Club is fined $500 for using an illegal player. The coach of the Palo Alto team, Calum Jagger-Limbert, is suspended 6 months for using an illegal player.
