Incident Summary: | A parent from San Jose Surf was sent off. The parent did not want to depart. After the game, the parent returned and verbally assaulted the referees and acted in a violent and intimidating manner toward a minor AR and the CR. |
Comments: | The coach of the San Jose Surf team, Juan Gil, is suspended 6 games - 2 for the parent being sent off, 2 for the parent refusing to leave and 2 for the parent returning after the match, but 2 of the games of the suspension are suspended for 1 year so that if there are no further incidents with this team or coach, those final 2 games will not need to be served. The parents and coaches of the San Jose Surf team are required to attend a Positive Coaching Alliance course at their cost. Written evidence of attendance must be provided to amittler@norcalpremier.com no later than July 8, 2017. The PAD Committee appreciates San Jose Surf taking action against this parent and recommends that this parent not be allowed to return to a match until (a) the parent has completed a Positive Coaching Alliance course and (b) at least 1 year has passed. |
