Incident Summary: | Allegation that a Newark player, Kevin Jaramillo, played in a scrimmage for San Jose Surf prior to being released by Newark Elite. It is alleged that Kevin Jaramillo did not have permission from Newark Elite to play in the scrimmage. |
Comments: | Kevin Jaramillo scrimmaged with Surf on February 15 and 16. Such scrimmages are considered Training Sessions under the NorCal Code of Ethics. Kevin Jaramillo, per USClub Soccer was released form Newark Elite on February 22. As the player did not have permission to participate in the Training Session from the DOC of the club with which he was then registered, this is considered Recruiting under the NorCal Code of Ethics. Coach de la Cruz of San Jose Surf is suspended 2 games for allowing the player to participate before begin released in violation of Rule 2 of Responsibilities Regarding Scouting and Recruiting in the NorCal Code of Ethics. In the future the PAD Committee advises coaches to get written confirmation a player has been released before allowing the player to participate. |
